About Parkinsons Disease

Possible Early Indicators of Parkinson's Disease

Our clinicians recommend patients, both young and older adults, to exercise regularly to build up strength, balance, and endurance as this disease may cause stiffness of joints and muscles.

The above early indicators still need to be evaluated by a Neurologist for proper diagnosis, recommended treatment, and referral to physical therapy. If you or a family member is struggling with any of the above symptoms, call us now at (410) 884-0000 and schedule a one-on-one evaluation with our Movement Specialists. Our rehab facility center is located near Columbia Town Center, at the corner of Little Patuxent Pkwy and Governor Warfield Pkwy.

Parkinson's disease is a progressive disorder of the nervous system that results in a steady decrease of muscle control, affecting movement and often including tremors. Physical therapy at an early stage of Parkinson’s Disease seems to help this disease slow down.

At present, physical therapy is one of the most effective treatments to slow down this degenerative disorder.  Our physical therapists' goal is to keep your trunk (which is your belly, low back, and sides) strong and flexible thru rehabilitation while improving the areas that Parkinson's Disease affects the most.
